Countertops have finally arrived and look great!

One last look at the cabinets before the countertops are installed.  Life is hard not having a sink or somewhere to put a cup or bowl.

There it is on the truck.
Here is the first piece.
Installing the under-mounted sink.
Four holes for the faucet.
Cleaning up the dust.
All done.
How amazing my kitchen looks. I am very proud of my color choices.
I will put some pictures up that I will take when it gets darker I think it will be easier to see.

Planting Flowers

It is time for planting. I got the majority of my flowers at Lowe's. I had my car packed with the bright colors of little cute flowers and green shrubs.

It was late and getting dark so all we had time to do was just set the plants close to where they were going to end up.

The next day we (me and my friend, Corlene) went to get the mulch and the rest of my flowers. The both of us ended up buying 3 cu. ft Cypress mulch for a total of 21 bags. And if you were wondering, YES, it did all fit in my car. Go HHR! As you can see from the pictures below it was tight fit. No not all 21 bags went to my house I used only 6 bags. The rest went to Corlene's house.

My car still smells of mulch. At least it is a good smell.
The potting soil fell out when I opened up the door.
I am pretending to plant. This is a self portrait, I set the camera on timer.
The blessed trash from the flower bed and the pots the flowers came in.
The shrubs are all planted.
Now the little orange flowers. Don't ask me what they are I can't remember.
These flowers are nice and are supposed to come up every year. The little ones in the front I don't know about. They were not in their pots very well and several of them broke as we were planting them. Time will tell.
And finally, the planter box. I look kinda funny right here I didn't know Corlene was taking my picture at that moment.
Here's how it looks with the mulch. You really can't see the little flowers here because of the wood things. But they should get taller.
There they are!

Chocolate Cake and Planter Box and Rooms

I made a Chocolate Cake for a coworkers birthday. I did not realize how challenging it would be without countertops. Well it was successful. The first thing I baked in the oven.

This planter box was made by my across the street neighbor. How wonderful to have great neighbors. The are an elderly couple I am really impressed the he made this for me.

This is one half of the office. Yes, I collect dolls. Better yet I have just kept the ones handed down to me. Most of them are my mothers. Not valuable. But special.

This is the guest bedroom.

All Hands on Deck, and NEW APPLIANCES!

Ok now that things are beginning to look like I am actually home. It was "all hands on deck" one Saturday trying to get things done.

This is the "poop deck". Not a great way to scrub the toilet. But is was already outside and needed cleaned before I was to let in inside. So, my mother took the job. What a awesome mother.
David was installing baseboards in the little bathroom.
All tuckered out. He gave me a full days work. I could not have done without his help. He is a great worker and an even greater brother. Thanks, David I love you.
APPLIANCES COMING OFF THE TRUCK!!!!!!!!!!
Range is coming in the door.
And now in place!
Easy does it. These guys were great. They took their time and did it right the first time. Telling the world about Hahn Appliance great place go check it out.
Would you take a gander at the height of the guys. These are the descendants of Goliath. that guy is standing on the floor and looking at the top of the refrigerator. WOW!
Dishwasher almost in. No, it is not green.
All finished.
The very first item in the fridge. David's Dr. Pepper.

New Ceiling Fan Installation

The is the base for my new living room ceiling fan. I did the installation my self. It is not as easy as you might expect. Working over your head, on a ladder in not the best way I work. But I got the job done.

See I am using tools.

This one shows off my "popeye" elbow bones. Thanks, Dad.

All done. Well, almost I had to order the blades and they hadn't come it yet, but now they are in and up and they look great.
